Thursday, April 27, 2006 and every art exhibition i attend only makes me feel like im paying $5-$10 to jerk someone off - why is it that everyone who has ever visited some kinda of artistic display in the past forty years has had nothing but good and inspiring things to say? - why is it always really good?  - why must they always invite their family and their friends and friends? - i mean, they dont really give a shit, and of course they are going to say "that was really good man, i was really impressed, you are very talented" and then make some annoying joke about which side of the family you get your talent from? - why can't/dont/shuldn't i stand up and announce to everyone the truth? that this really sux, but is only worthy as a good interpretation of what art can be - that experimental films are so much easier to make than ones we can all understnad - that we're not deeper or smarter or more talented or intellectual or something you cannot ever be - just idiots with nothing better to do and lacking the ability to really do something - so we scribble and pretend we know the truth and are beyond the masses and the walking public - would you really be feeling this great tonight if you were surrounded my strangers? - would you be an artist if it were up to us? would you be an artist if it were up to us?posted by Simon Thursday, April 27, 2006 |
