Thursday, October 17, 2002 i am excited at the moment. and it's our first time for this, together. i am going to see oasis tomorrow night, and the main reason im looking forward to it is beause i've hyped it up to be history making. "it'll be like seeing the beatles at the cavern." he said. (thats a metaphor i'd like to steal.) i used to hate the band - to think they were a group of arrogant pricks. but that was also during the time i used to think drinking was weak. (which it is, but i think it's a healthy, friendly weakness.) i got into the band when i was heavily into lovesongs. a little phase i went through, (i kept some momentos, don't worry.) "wonderwall" on cassette, for two dollars at a second hand music store. i listened to that single over and over a lot of time. i now own more than all their released albums, and know them all inside out. i really like oasis now. i really like drinking now. but i know what will happen. the show will terrorise my mind, and ill love it forever. i'll walk out of the place, finally remembering how much i've had to drink, and it will start raining. this happens every time i walk home from a concert. ash, the church, bob dylan, midnight oil. my tour shirt will get wet, and the vibe of rock'n'roll will keep me walking cooly in the rain. and i'll be singing "here comes the sun" in my head. posted by Simon Thursday, October 17, 2002 |
